International Arbitration

Our team acts as counsel and as arbitrators in disputes ranging from commercial matters to foreign direct investment.

We have represented clients under most of the world's major arbitration rules (e.g., ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, SIAC, ICDR-AAA, ADRIC, and ICSID) in both investor-state and commercial contexts. We also regularly represent parties that seek to enforce (or resist enforcement of) foreign arbitral awards before the Canadian courts.

Members of our team also accept arbitral appointments. Rebecca Huang, FCIArb, is a Qualified Arbitrator with the ADR Institute of Canada, an associate member of the U.S. College of Commercial Arbitrators, and a founding member of Singapore-based Nine Arbitration Chambers, through which she accepts appointments as arbitrator in international matters (with a particular emphasis on Chinese parties and evidence). Anna Wong, also a Qualified Arbitrator with ADRIC, accepts domestic arbitrator appointments, drawing on her extensive experience as committee counsel for various regulatory bodies. Finally, both Anna and Ryan Pistorius, MCIArb, have experience as tribunal secretaries in addition to their respective counsel practices.
